My herd of Little Ponies

I haven't considered myself an active collector of My Little Pony toys in a long time, since I grew up and stopped collecting pretty things in favor of playing with action figures in the sand pit, but I do maintain a small inner circle of a few select ponies.

Individuals

Lickety-Split

My favorite pony from the cartoon and my wee wifey. I went out of my way to buy her on Ebay even though I usually just pick up ponies at thrift stores and the like. Her mane is white (and I like it that way!) but her tail still has quite a bit of pink to it. I remember taking her to school a few times as a teenager, but she's still in good condition. Her factory curl has long since deserted her, but I don't mind at all.

Pillow Talk

Another pony I actively sought out and purchased online, for less sentimental reasons. She's my favorite pony in terms of appearances, and her mane in particular is just gorgeous. Her symbol is a little scuffed, but not excessively so. She has a pink ribbon tied around her tail that I'm almost certain isn't original. I've always imagined her as sort of a pervert. I mean, how else do you end up with a name like that?

Baby Frosting

A.K.A. Party Girl, rescued from my tremendous collection of bait ponies bought in lots. I don't really know why her previous owner considered her bait, since she's not in bad condition at all. One of her eyes doesn't shut (the socket has something brown in it, could be rust but the eye itself doesn't appear abnormal) and she has a small pink mark on one of her back legs, but other than that she's quite nice looking. I imagine she's Pillow Talk's little friend. Maybe they met online.

Derpy

Bought new as a part of the 2013 Favorites Collection way back when. I've styled her mane with the rubber band from her tail to give her a forelock. She's the only G4 pony in my inner circle. Not much to say about her, really.

Baby Cotton Candy

The only pony from the first lot I bought to remain close to me. She definitely went to high school with me a few times, LOL. She's wearing a diaper and a pink “BABY” necklace, both original. Her factory curl is gone, but her hair remains miraculously pink. She's got sort of a dark, power hungry vibe, like a tiny, wicked pony vizier.

Puzzlemint

Gamer pony. A longtime favorite of mine, I happened upon her at a thrift store and decided to take a chance. Her mane was in terrible shape when I got her, but I swear there's some kind of magic chemical reaction that happens when you put cheap conditioner on cheap plastic hair. She's the only G3 pony in my inner circle, and one of only two G3 ponies in my overall collection.

Baby Countdown

I think I got him from the same thrift store as Puzzlemint. His mane sits kind of strangely on his head, but I think it's charming. I'd like to get him a reproduction bandana at some point.

Puppy Love

HQG1C pony. Gets to be in my inner circle purely because she's pretty and I know where she's been.

The future of my herd

Like I said, I'm no longer an active collector of pony toys. There are a few ponies I'd pick up if I saw them, but I think it's unlikely I'll go out of my way to get any more. Of course, there's always a chance that I'll dip further into my collection of baits and maybe even make some customs, but it remains to be seen.
